Stratford Shooting Leads To Arrest

Devonte Whitehurst Charged With Attempted Murder Amongst Other Charges

The Stratford Police Department has reported that they've charged Davonte Whitehurst, 19 of Bridgeport, for a shooting on Wiklund Avenue in Stratford late Saturday night.

According to a Connecticut Post article, Whitehurst is accused of shooting the victim in the leg after a confrontation at the residence and then fleeing. Whitehurst was spotting running down Wiklund by officers on their way to the scene and arrested.

Whitehurst is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, and a slew of other charges. His bond has been set at $250,000 and is scheduled to appear in court on October 31st.
