Stratford Wins 2 In National Tournament, But Loses Title Game

STRATFORD, CT — A football team from Stratford made it all the way to the final round of the 63rd annual Pop Warner Super Bowl.

The U12 Stratford Redskins shut out competitors from Illinois and California before falling 12-8 to the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats of Florida in Saturday's National Championship game, according to an email from public relations agency CTP Boston.

The super bowl tournament took place Dec. 7 to Dec. 14 at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Prior to the event, the Stratford team also won the Connecticut State Championship.
