Wing It On! Opens New Location In Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — Wing It On!, a popular wing and sandwich restaurant, celebrated the official opening of its new location in Stratford on Monday. Wing It On!, located at 1641 Barnum Ave. in Stratford, also has restaurants in Waterbury and New Britain.

The new Wing It On! location offers takeout and third-party delivery Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Once the “Stay Safe, Stay Home” executive order is lifted in Fairfield County, a small dine-in section will open as well limited outdoor seating, according to officials.

Longtime local resident Usman Khan is the franchise owner of the new Wing It On! in Stratford. Khan also owns and operates a local convenience store with his family in Stratford. This is his first venture into restaurant operations, and he plans to open more Wing It On! locations down the road.

Matt Ensero, CEO and founder of Wing It On!, said Usman is “exactly the type of franchisee we want to grow Wing It On! in new communities.”

“His strong ties to Stratford, business acumen and understanding of the Wing It On! motto – that great wings without great service, aren’t that great – makes him the perfect fit as a franchisee,” Ensero said in a statement.

Ensero opened the company’s first restaurant in 2011 in his hometown of Waterbury.

“Creating the best wing experience around goes back to the early 2000’s when Matt Ensero, CEO and founder of Wing It On! and his friends would argue every football Sunday about who was driving 30-plus minutes to pick up wings from some of their favorite spots in nearby towns,” according to a news release. “However, the distance and low-quality product would always result in soggy and cold wings once they got home. Ensero had enough, hence, Wing It On! was born.”

In addition to its wings, Wing It On! also serves chicken sandwiches, salads and customizable seasoned fries.
