Learn to play great ukulele songs in a supportive and welcoming environment. This practical "how to" will help you master some of the basic chords such as Am, C, C7, D7, F, and G7. This class is suited to beginners and those who have taken a beginner ukulele class before and wish to improve chord changing skills. Bring a tuned soprano, concert or tenor ukulele and a ukulele tuner with you each week. Need to learn how to tune your ukulele with a Snark type tuner? Please attend the OLLI one-session "how to" class on tuning the ukulele.

Do you have experience strumming basic ukulele chords and chord changes? Learn to strum more songs of various genres in a welcoming, supportive and fun learning environment. We will work from a ukulele songbook supplemented by online ukulele song links provided at the first session.
About Nina Lesiga
Nina Lesiga is a storyteller who tells true personal stories of adventure from her youth to present day life in Stratford, CT. She is the host of the Bridgeport Story Exchange, and one of the organizers of PechaKucha Night Bridgport (visual storytelling). Nina is a member of Story City Troupe performing monthly online. Nina's performed on PBS's "Stories from the Stage","Generation Women" and "The Story Space",
As a ukulelist Nina teaches ukulele online to groups. Her practical hands-on approach enables students of all ages to strum songs right from their first lesson with gusto. You might recognize Nina from Make Music Day Stratford. She has a passion for participatory music making in public spaces. Nina's held events at Short Beach, The Festival at the Shakespeare Theatre, Sterling House Community Center and the Stratford Library. In neighboring Bridgeport Nina's held events at the Discovery Museum, the Barnum Museum, Captain's Cove Seaport and at the Reservoir Farm Farmer's Market.
