March 10, 2021: The C.A.R.E.S. Group today announced its integration with Confidant Health, a virtual addiction treatment and mental health clinic, to expand the reach and offerings of their support groups to people with a friend or loved one impacted by addiction. The virtual addiction treatment, mental health, and recovery support services offered on the Confidant Health platform are designed to support the whole family using evidence-based clinical interventions but delivered in a user-friendly manner.

“We have aligned with Confidant Health because the needs of the individuals and families we serve go beyond what we can offer during our once weekly groups” said Donna DeLuca, co-founder of C.A.R.E.S. “Now we can reliably connect family members and their loved ones with therapists, coaches, and clinical support, and they never even have to leave home.”

Confidant Health offers virtual care for substance use disorders, such as medications and therapy, as well as holistic services to support wellbeing, including coaching, community, and education. Confidant’s aim is to make high-quality care accessible and affordable without barriers so that individuals with mild substance use issues can access support earlier, and so that those with greater needs can be supported as efficiently as possible.

The partnership between C.A.R.E.S. and Confidant Health is a model for how digital health can be used to address the addiction and overdose epidemics in the United States.

“Substance use and addiction impacts the whole family, and we’ve worked closely with the team at C.A.R.E.S to ensure our platform can address the needs of each member.” said Jon Read, President and Founder of Confidant Health. “Whether someone needs support strategizing about how to help a loved one, rebuilding relationships, or managing a disease, our goal is to make it as easy to get help as it is to access drugs and alcohol.”

The C.A.R.E.S. Group is a Connecticut based non-profit organization founded by a mother and her son in direct response to the increase in addiction, overdoses, and tragic deaths of young people in local communities. They felt first-hand the devastating impact that substance use has on the entire family. In their personal struggles, which span over a decade, they discovered a lack of available resources for parents and other affected family members. C.A.R.E.S. offers weekly support groups that provide professional facilitation, ongoing education, support services, and recovery resources for parents, families, and community members addressing issues related to substance misuse and its devastating effects.

Confidant Health is a virtual substance use and mental health clinic dedicated to offering evidence-based care for individuals and families. Confidant is restructuring care delivery to remove barriers to high-quality care for addiction and commonly co-occurring mental health conditions.
