Ex-Trumbull Cop — Milford Resident — Accused Of Sexual Assault

The former police officer was convicted in 2015 of a prior sexual assault case.

A former Trumbull police officer and Milford resident, William Ruscoe, 51, has been charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a child and illegal sexual contact with a victim, reports Dan Tepfer of Hearst Connecticut.

Ruscoe is currently out on a $10,000 bond. The sexual assault allegations date back to 2014, Hearst CT reports. Connecticut State Police Troop A was the arresting agency, according to court records. His next court date is 10 a.m. July 29 in Superior Court, Bridgeport.

In 2015, Patch reported that Ruscoe was sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended after 30 months after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teen in the Police Explorers program. As part of that sentencing Ruscoe also received 10 years of probation. He was a 19-year veteran of the Trumbull police department, according to the Trumbull Times.
