Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts Participate in Scouts in Government Day
Forty enthusiastic Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts enjoyed the 2018 Scouts in Government Day experience on Tuesday, March 27.

Forty enthusiastic Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts enjoyed the 2018 Scouts in Government Day experience on Tuesday, March 27. Continuing a long tradition started by First Selectman Heimann in the early 1970’s, scouts filled out applications and wrote essays to win the opportunity to meet for two hours with a Trumbull official, employee, or volunteer.
After a formal Opening Ceremony, the scouts met their mentors and spent the afternoon learning about the Town of Trumbull. They asked questions about education, training, duties of the position, and a typical day’s schedule. In addition, the scouts took notes about interesting facts they learned from their mentors.
During the Closing Ceremony in Town Hall, First Selectman Vicki Tesoro presented the scouts with Certificates of Participation and gave them an opportunity to share the information they had learned during the afternoon. The Scouts in Government Day committee thanks all those who participated and encourages scouts to participate in next year’s program. Special thanks to all of the dedicated Town employees who made this opportunity available to the scouts.
