Happy Mother's Day From Nancy

"Thank you for helping us in every way you could, especially with our own kids. Thanks for all the hugs, advice and a shoulder to cry on."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 12, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Nancy's letter to her mom:

Dear Mom,

On this Mother’s Day, 2019, I wanted to thank you for being a wonderful mom and tell you how much you mean to me. I’ll bet you were overwhelmed with the three of us at times, especially when we were very little, and I thank you for every day that you sacrificed for us, every late night up with one of us who was sick, colicky or just fussy.

Thank you for every meal you made and every lunch you packed for school. Thank you for holding it all together when times were tough. Thank you for all the tough love that taught us to be strong and hardworking people. Thank you for helping us in every way you could, especially with our own kids. Thanks for all the hugs, advice and a shoulder to cry on. Everything that you have done does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you for giving us a great example of what a marriage should be and for our Catholic faith.

Most importantly, thank you for taking care of our father now that he is stricken with Parkinson’s disease and can’t fully care for himself. That is true love. I see how difficult this has been for you, and how exhausted you have been, and it does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We all love you very much and pray for you daily, thanks so much for being our mom!
