Knights of Columbus Council #5806 Supports Local Charities

Knights of Columbus Council #5806 of the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena (220 Shelton Road, Trumbull) hosted a very successful Lenten Food Drive, to support local area food pantries in Trumbull and Bridgeport.

Knights and their family members collected, sorted, and packaged up food donations, which were delivered to the Trumbull Food Bank in Trumbull and Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Mary Church, St. Charles Borromeo Church, and the Convent of Mary Immaculate in inner city Bridgeport. Thanks to the generous contributions of parishioners & friends, five carloads of food and over $1,500 dollars were collected for local food banks.

St. Catherine’s Council #5806 was chartered in 1966 through the vision and foresight of Msgr. Edward D. Halloran. The Council is proud to have grown to over 100 members, dedicated to the exemplification of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Council #5806 is an extremely motivated, visible and active Council. It works closely with Saint Catherine of Siena Parish and its community by providing funds and services for various projects and activities. It also supports many worthy charitable causes through donations and volunteer efforts. The Council is guided by the Knights of Columbus “Faith in Action” program model by coordinating its programs and efforts towards Faith, Family, Community and Life.

In addition, other initiatives of the Social Justice & Charitable Outreach Team include: school supplies drive, toiletry drive, hat, coat & sweater drive, other emergency food drives, annual Parish giving tree, pro-life baby shower, and many more.
