Obituary: Matthew J. Pronechen, 33, Of Trumbull
Matt was very athletic and participated in many organized sports. He had a contagious smile and knew how to make people laugh.

TRUMBULL, CT — (From Pistey Funeral Home): Matthew John Pronechen, 33, of Trumbull, fell asleep into the hands of the Lord as a result of a fatal car accident on Sunday, March 14, 2021.
Matt was very athletic. He participated in many organized sports as a child and in his adolescent years he enjoyed playing wiffleball, basketball, and riding bicycles with his brothers and neighborhood friends. As an adult, he regularly participated in a men’s softball league in Trumbull, and he bowled in several leagues with his friends and family at Nutmeg bowl in Fairfield during the winter. He had the spirit of a competitor in everything he pursued.
Matt enjoyed spending summers camping with his family at Hammonasset Beach State Park, playing blackjack with his friends at the casino, and he especially loved spending time riding his motorcycle or taking a cruise in his favorite ride, his black Z06 Corvette. That car was his pride and joy, and he loved to go fast.

Matt was a loving uncle to his niece and nephew. He enjoyed playing with them and giving into their requests for a Reese’s peanut butter cup whenever they asked. One day, his nephew Jackson asked Matt to buy him a bicycle. He pulled a hundred dollar bill and said, “Here, tell your dad to buy you a bike today.”
One of his newfound hobbies was cooking. He bought an air fryer and enjoyed preparing delicious appetizers for his family and friends on Sundays – he called himself “Chef Matt.” He loved eating ice cream, and Rita’s was one of his favorite places. Matt loved the Christmas season, and he would drink Hood eggnog every day in December. This past year, he even came home one evening with 10 containers of it before they were sold out and shared them with his niece and nephew. Whenever he left the house, he made sure he wore a fresh pair of Nikes and had on a new hoodie. Matt had a contagious smile and knew how to make people laugh. He always carried a positive energy with him wherever he went, and he always had a story he was excited to share.
