Pennsylvania Kidnapping Victim Rescued In Trumbull: State Police
Connecticut State Police apprehended the suspect and victim on Route 15 in Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — A kidnapping victim was rescued by Connecticut State Police troopers Monday afternoon during a traffic stop on Route 15 northbound in Trumbull, according to authorities.
The 41-year-old suspect, Jose Alberto Claudio Diaz, accused of kidnapping the female victim was wanted on robbery charges out of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he lives.
Connecticut State Police were notified by authorities in Bethlehem that the two would be traveling through the state on Route 15 on Monday, and the vehicle they were in was spotted near exit 46 and pulled over near exit 48 in Trumbull.

In the vehicle were Diaz and the woman, who state police said was being held against her will. NBC Connecticut reported that authorities believed Diaz was planning to travel to Springfield, Massachusetts, with the victim.
Authorities believe Diaz abducted the victim in Bethlehem.

Diaz was taken into custody and charged with first-degree kidnapping and assault on a police officer. Pennsylvania authorities reportedly had obtained a warrant charging him with robbery, making terrorist threats and other violations.
He was held in lieu of bail of $300,000, and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court for arraignment on Tuesday.
