Preview of 'Annie' by Broadway Method Academy

Casting is now complete for the upcoming classic family musical Annie, produced by Broadway Method Academy. A host of Broadway actors will be featured alongside the Academy’s 45 students.
Directed by Connor Deane with choreography by Audra Bryant and music direction by J. Scott Handley and Jad Bernardo, performances are scheduled at Westport Country Playhouse, Friday through Sunday, February 8 – 10, and February 15 - 17.

“We are thrilled to present this classic family musical to Fairfield County audiences,” said Director Connor Deane. “Our students at Broadway Method Academy have the unique opportunity to play alongside some of the brightest talent New York City has to offer. This show will be filled with heart, and we can’t wait to see what audiences think of it.”

The cast will be headed by Klea Blackhurst (Everything the Traffic Will Allow) as Miss Hannigan, Paul Schoeffler (Sunset Boulevard, Rock of Ages, Peter Pan) as Oliver Warbucks, Lauren Sprague (Cinderella, The Wizard of Oz) as Grace Farrell, Nicholas Rodriguez (Tarzan) as Rooster Hannigan, Julie Kavanagh (Holiday Inn, La Cage aux Folles) as Lily St. Regis, and Dan Remmes (Grumpy Old Men) as FDR. Ava Lynn Vercellone stars in the title role. Reviving her role as Sandy from the 2012 Broadway production will be Sunny, courtesy of William Berloni Theatrical Animals, Inc.

The ensemble includes Broadway Method Academy students Plum Sonnenfeld, Devin Murphy, Maddy Alecia, Betsy Ronning, Brynn Ellingson, Maura Marchetti, Skylar Giblin, Mariam Mamadashvili, Alexandra Knaggs, Tori Faunce, Lizzie Richards, Emerson Raymond, Colleen McCurley, Kaitlyn Richards, Kevin Keating, Ethan Horbury, Julia Vitale, Ryanne Forrest, Jayden Hudson, Jason Zink, Kai Marelli, Sheridan Mullins, Isabel Chistoni, Richie Cordero, Robin Title, Jackie Peterson, Kyle Geriak, Bailey Shumaker, Annika Carlson, Emily Joyce, Carly Mofenson, Kate Meza, Charley Bartlett, Elizabeth Champion, Olivia Kwok, Annika Jonker, Serena Remmes, Brenna Connolly, Emily Seanor, Genevieve Seanor, Griffin Delmhorst, Gillian Delmhorst, Claudia Cleri, and Owen Bernheim.
Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and book by Thomas Meehan, is the seven-time Tony Award-winning family favorite that features unforgettable hits like "It's a Hard-Knock Life," "Easy Street," and the iconic Broadway standard "Tomorrow."
The creative team also features production stage manager Chris De Camillis, lighting designer Weston G. Wetzel, set designer Ryan Howell, costume designer Colleen Fitzsimons, and wig design by Kelly Yurko and the CCM Make-Up/Wig Department. J. Scott Handley, Connor Deane, and David Dreyfoos serve as Executive Producers. Annie is produced by Broadway Method Academy, the resident conservatory of Westport Country Playhouse.
