The shotgun slug went through several rooms in the neighbor's house and came to rest in a 6-year-old girl's bedroom, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumull man was arrested after he accidentally fired his 12-gauge shotgun through his own house and into a neighbor's home, according to police. The shotgun slug passed through several rooms in the neighbor's house before coming to rest in a 6-year-old girl's bedroom.
A woman who lives in the 5000 block of Main Street called police May 31 after she heard a loud bang and found what appeared to be a bullet hole in her daughter's room, police said. She also noticed there were similar sized holes at the same height in rooms adjacent to her daughter's room. The girl wasn't injured.
Officers found a similar sized hole in the exterior wall of a neighbor's home. Robert Barnum, 38, told officers that he was holding his 12-gauge shotgun when it accidentally went off, police said. The slug went through his couch and out of his house and into the neighbor's home.
