St. Catherine of Siena featured in National Magazine
Building Stone Magazine cites innovative use of natural stone in sanctuary renovation project

The Parish of Saint Catherine of Siena (220 Shelton Road, Trumbull) has been featured in Building Stone Magazine for its innovative use of natural stone during the recent sanctuary beautification project, called Christ at the Center.
The project, which was completed and dedicated in March 2019, produced a completely redesigned sanctuary, a new altar of sacrifice, and a new tabernacle, which was also relocated to the center of the church. The Parish notes that the project is a tangible manifestation that Christ is alive and working in the Church, even during the most difficult of times.

“I'm excited that the architect for this project was Duncan Stroik,” shares Father Joseph Marcello, Pastor of the Parish of St. Catherine of Siena. “Mr. Stroik is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and the publisher of Sacred Architecture magazine. He is truly the leader in the field of ecclesiastical architecture in the United States, if not the world. With him, we've arrived at a design which captures the enduring beauty of the Catholic faith. It is truly beautiful and timeless, and it appears always to have been here: a design which will stand for the ages, to give glory to God, and to help us to pray, both now, and for all our future generations.”
