St. Joseph Athlete Wins Event At Class M Indoor Track Meet
A Cadet prevailed in the long jump competition Saturday in the Class M championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The defending Class M indoor track champions from 2018 successfully repeated their titles - one for the fifth straight year - and to no one's surprise, it was the host school, Hillhouse, which captured the team championships again Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
The Academics' boys team made it five straight by compiling 87 points, far outdistancing runner-up Suffield, which had 56. On the girls' side, Hillhouse won for the second straight year, edging Weston by a 76-74 margin.
Two longstanding Class M records were among three new standards set. The Suffield 4x800 boys relay team of Cam Miller, Jared Sharp, Kyle Englander and Nick Sinofsky finished in 8:05.73, shattering the previous best of 8:17.86 which had been held by Ledyard since 1996. Patricia Mroczkowski of Berlin cleared 5 feet, 6.25 inches in the high jump, breaking the mark of 5-6 held by Janel Kozolowski of Woodstock Academy since 2000. Hillhouse's 4x400 relay team of Talib McBride, Dale Thompson, Ralphael Hawkins and Deshaune Poole set a new record of 3:28.29, eclipsing the 3:29.01 posted by Weston in 2015.
