St. Joseph Student Named Gatorade CT Football Player Of The Year

St. Joseph junior Jack Wallace was awarded the prestigious award for his athletic skill, high academic achievement and good character.

TRUMBULL, CT — St. Joseph High School junior Jack Wallace was selected as the Gatorade Connecticut Football Player of the Year. He is the first football player at the school to be chosen for the prestigious award.

The award is given to a football player who demonstrates athletic skill, academic achievement and good character on and off the football field. Wallace is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year Award.

Outside of football Wallace has an A- average and spends time fundraising for breast cancer, diabetes and heart disease research.

Other previous award winners include Emmitt Smith, Matthew Stafford and Christian McCaffrey.

The Gatorade award recognizes one student from each state and the District of Columbia in football, girls volleyball, baseball, softball and both boys and girls in basketball, soccer and track and field.
