Trumbull Blizzard: Schools Make Early Decision, State of Emergency Declared

A parking ban will also go into effect tonight.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull Public Schools will be closed Tuesday.

First Selectman Tim Herbst has declared a state of emergency as the blizzard approaches.

A parking ban will be in place beginning at 11 p.m. Monday and until further notice.

Herbst encourages residents to avoid driving during the storm.

The storm may cause power outages; outages should be reported to United Illuminating at 1-800-722-5584. Downed trees or power lines should be reported to 911.

If you are need of shelter, please reach out to family and friends, or dial 211 for a list of shelter facilities in the area.

Residents are also reminded of the importance of keeping heating and furnace vents clear of snow to maintain adequate ventilation, and remember to keep fire hydrants accessible. Please also remember to check on the elderly and disabled to be sure they are safe.
