Stop & Shop Donates Lotto Commission to HCCC Campaign

After Selling $1M CT Lotto! Winning Ticket at Trumbull Store, Stop & Shop Donates Commission Received to Help Cure Childhood Cancer Campaign

Dr. Andrew Kung, Chair of Pediatrics at MSK Kids, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Program, and representatives from Connecticut Lotto! joined Trumbull Stop & Shop store manager Rocco Baldino as the store donated its commission from the sale of a $1 million Lotto! jackpot ticket. The $10,000 donation will support Stop & Shop’s ongoing Help Cure Childhood Cancer Campaign benefiting MSK Kids’ mission to find treatments and cures for pediatric cancer. The winning ticket was sold at the Trumbull Stop & Shop located at 100 Quality Street.

“It has been a very exciting few weeks since we sold the lucky Lotto! ticket,” said Trumbull Stop & Shop Store Manager, Rocco Baldino. “Stop & Shop is very pleased that we are able to donate the commission to a campaign near and dear to our hearts. We hope our donation entices our customers to also make a donation at checkout for such an important cause.”

Stop & Shop’s Help Cure Childhood Cancer Campaign raises money to support pediatric cancer research at MSK and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Funds raised at Stop & Shop locations in Fairfield and New Haven Counties support MSK Kids. Donations made at other stores across Connecticut support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in their pediatric cancer research.

The Stop & Shop and MSK Kids campaign, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, has raised more than $25 million to-date for MSK Kids. Stop & Shop is MSK’s largest corporate donor. The campaign will continue to run in Stop & Shop stores and at www.stopandshop.com through the end of March. 100% of donations in the fight against childhood cancer.
