These CT Towns Have The Highest Coronavirus Infection Rates

Some Connecticut towns and cities have become hot spots for coronavirus infections.

CONNECTICUT — Connecticut’s infection rate has settled around 30 daily cases per 100,000 residents, but some communities are getting close to double that rate.

Some areas in the Naugatuck Valley continue to have among the highest rates.

The towns with the highest infection rates from March 28 to April 10 were:

  1. Waterbury: 59.1
  2. Bethlehem: 52.2
  3. Naugatuck: 49.3
  4. Thomaston: 48.2
  5. East Haven: 47.8
  6. New Milford: 47.4
  7. Torrington: 45.7
  8. Wolcott: 45.5
  9. Bridgeport: 45
  10. West Haven: 44.4

There are 132 out of 169 Connecticut communities that are in the state’s highest alert level for coronavirus infections. Communities enter the high alert level when daily cases exceed 15 per 100,000 residents over a two-week average.
