Town Of Trumbull's Leaf Collection Program Delayed By Pandemic
"Fewer leaf pick-up crews have resulted in a slower moving program, and your patience is greatly appreciated."
Press release from the Town of Trumbull:
Jan. 13, 2021
The annual Town-wide leaf collection program has been ongoing since early November. At this point Town crews have completed the southeast, southwest, and northwest quadrants and have begun the northeast quadrant. Our leaf pickup operations this year have been severely altered due to the pandemic. Normally we would have an additional 12 to 15 seasonal employees supporting the program daily. This year we suspended the hiring of seasonal employees to protect the full time members of our team who are critical during the winter snow season. Our staffing allows for proper plow coverage during storms with few to spare, and as a result we cannot afford to have illness or quarantine sideline our men. Fewer leaf pick-up crews have resulted in a slower moving program, and your patience is greatly appreciated.
