Trumbull To Buy 25 Acres For $7 Million
The town will buy around 25 acres of land on Hardy Lane.
TRUMBULL, CT — The Trumbull Town Council voted 16-3 to purchase around 25 acres on Hardy Lane for around $7 million.
The property abuts the Pequonnock River Valley and is near around 300 single-family homes.
“This purchase allows us to control the future of this property instead of ending up reacting to a situation that may not be in the best interest of the Trumbull Community," said First Selectman Vicki Tesoro. "Any high-density development in this area would change the character of this long-established single-family residential area. We have no immediate plans for the property. We will land bank it, and any future considerations will be subject to additional review and approvals and public input."

The town will use 20-year municipal bonds to pay for the purchase. Bond money was authorized in early 2020 by the Board of Finance and Town Council.
