Daniel Alan Schwartz, 19, of Rockville, Md., is charged with being a fugitive from justice and sixth-degree larceny.
Police said Schwartz took a knife from the Westfield Mall Target and left without paying. He was also found to be a fugitive.
His bond was set at $250,000 for an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
