Trumbull First Selectwoman Raises Gay Pride Flag at Town Hall
Vicki Tesoro is Joined by Trumbull State Representatives Devlin and Rutigliano at Ceremony
In observation of June being National Gay Pride Month, Town of Trumbull First Selectwoman Vicki Tesoro held a historic first #Pride flag raising ceremony at Trumbull Town Hall with State Representative Laura Devlin and State Representative David Rutigliano. The small ceremony was held outdoors and limited in size due to concerns for COVID 19 and social distancing practice. They were joined by other community leaders like Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox and Carla Olexovitch Volpe.
Tesoro was presented the flag by local LGBTQ activist John Brannelly, whose grandparents lived in Trumbull. Tesoro began the event by reading a Proclamation she issued naming the month of June LGBTQ Pride Month in the Town of Trumbull. Tesoro noted that the "Town of Trumbull believes that every human being has the right to live their life openly as who they are."
