Trumbull Man Claims 'Lucky for Life' Lottery Prize Won in February
Henry Baczek of Trumbull wins Lucky "$25,000 a year for life" lottery draw game prize.

Finally — the long-awaited Lucky for Life “$25,000 a year for life” second prize for the Feb. 27 drawing has been claimed. And, just in the nick of time, too. Due to CT Lottery’s 180 calendar day prize claim policy, the winner, Henry Baczek of Trumbull, had only 13 more days remaining to collect his “lifetime” prize.
The winning numbers drawn on Feb. 27 were 8-11-17-24-43 with the Lucky Ball number, 30. Baczek’s Lucky for Life “Quick Pick” ticket missed the Lucky Ball number, but his five number match rewarded him with the game’s second highest “For Life” prize.
Baczek’s timely arrival at CT Lottery headquarters Thursday in Rocky Hill allowed him to claim the first of many $25,000 (before taxes) annual prize checks for the rest of his life. The minimum guaranteed amount Baczek could receive is $500,000 ($25,000 a year for 20 years), but winners who live longer than that will receive prize payments for the remainder of their natural life.
Baczek’s winning Lucky for Life ticket was purchased at Sonu Mart, previously located at 1201 Boston Post Road, Suite 1098, in Milford. Sonu Mart will receive a $2,500 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the ticket.
At present, two other Lucky for Life second prize winning tickets from different draw dates remain unclaimed — one for the Aug. 7 drawing sold in Hartford County and another for July 28, sold in Fairfield County. The CT Lottery encourages all players to check their tickets carefully.
