CONNECTICUT — A Trumbull man was issued a $500 fine after he hosted a large gathering at his Huntington Turnpike residence in violation of Gov. Ned Lamont’s executive order on social gathering size limits, according to police.

Officers were notified about a traffic hazard around 11:30 p.m. Jan. 16 on Huntington Turnpike near the Bridgeport town line. Many cars were parked on the road, said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman.

The State's Attorney Office is reviewing the matter to determine whether any additional enforcement action is warranted, said Joseph T. Corradino, state's attorney for the Fairfield Judicial District.

“Officers went to the source of the gathering where they met with the resident, David
Pizarro, and had him break up the party that he was hosting,” Weir said in a statement. “Police needed to rectify the parking situation and also to have everyone comply with the current COVID-19 social gathering restrictions.”

Pizzaro was cooperative and had his guests leave the residence.
