TRUMBULL, CT — Here are some of the most recent arrests by Trumbull police.

Macy's theft

A 21-year-old New Haven woman was arrested after she helped steal more than $1,300 worth of merchandise from Macy’s, according to police.

Three people stole items from Macy’s on Dec. 29, 2019 and fled the mall area after getting into a vehicle, police said. The vehicle was involved in a minor crash in the parking lot and security officers were able to get its license plate.

Officers tracked down the owner of the vehicle who told police the name of the operator during the incident, police said. The other two people weren’t identified.

Police obtained an arrest warrant and the suspect was picked up by New Haven police on Nov. 22. She was charged with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny, evading responsibility and operating a vehicle without a license.

Gun threat
A 29-year-old Trumbull man was arrested after a Oct. 24 domestic incident in town. A mother said her son had been drinking and they got into an argument about him making too much noise, police said.

The man then retrieved a rifle and pointed it at his mother, police said. He then put the rifle in his mouth and pulled the trigger, police said. The rifle wasn’t loaded and didn’t go off. The mother fled the house and contacted police.

The son was taken to the hospital for evaluation; he turned himself in on an active arrest warrant Nov. 17. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, 3rd-degree criminal mischief and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Domestic arrest

A 36-year-old Trumbull woman was arrested Nov. 17 after she assaulted her husband, according to police.

The two got into an argument over the arrestee’s phone messages and journal messages and she smashed her phone so her husband could no longer look through it, police said.

The husband told police that his wife hit him in the face and put her arms around his neck, but didn’t strangle him, according to police. A child witnessed in the incident.

The woman was charged with risk of injury to a minor, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was released on a $500 bond.
