Trumbull Vietnam Memorial Damaged In Crash, Driver Charged: PD

A car crashed into the memorial and left the scene, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — Police have charged a person who accidentally crashed into the roadside Vietnam Memorial on White Plains Road last week.

The crash involved one car and no injuries were reported, but the driver left the scene of the crash, said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman.

"The vehicle remained in the general area awaiting to be towed due to vehicular damage," Weir told Patch.

Police determined which tow company was used and were able to track down the car and driver.

The driver was cooperative, but charged with leaving the scene of the crash, Weir said.
