Trumbull's Political Poet: 'Voters Beware'

The following is a letter to the editor.

You've heard the campaign slogan,

"a chicken in every pot;"

If you elect Tim Herbst again,

you'll get an apt. or condo -

on every other lot.

No more protective zoning,

no more neighborhoods preserved

with care;

You now might see apartments & condos,

springing up here, there, and yes -

EVERYwhere!

He's readying condos on Daniels Farm,

as I write this poem;

And 12-18 Sacred Heart students,

will soon call "PJ's Garden Exchange,"

their new apartment-house home.

If you have a next door neighbor,

who cannot sell their place;

Get on your knees -

and start to plead -

"PLEASE

DON'T LET A DEVELOPER

BUY THIS SPACE!"

If you think you safely own,

the all-American dream;

(a home in Trumbull, with trees

and woods perched gently near a stream . . .)

THINK AGAIN!!

If you vote Herbst,

your Trumbull dream,

will rot before your eyes;

With condos and apartments everywhere,

property values will plummet!!

while taxes, mortgage and sewer costs

will steadily continue to rise . . .

Look around your neighborhood,

before you color-in the voting dot . . .

A vote for Herbst and his obedient sheep,

is a vote for a Condo, or Apt.,

in

Any and Every

Adjoining Vacant Lot!!

VOTER BE WISE . . .

VOTER BEWARE.
