2021 Talcottville Memorial Day Parade Is A Go In Vernon
One of Vernon's most unique parades is back for Memorial Day weekend.

VERNON, CT — The Memorial Day parade is on for 2021 in the Talcottville section of Vernon.
The parade, one of Vernon's shortest but most unique, is scheduled for May 30.
Marchers will be gathering in the Talcottville Church parking lot at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. start.

The parade route stretch from Elm Hill Road, down Main Street and up to Mount Hope Cemetery for a commemorative ceremony honoring veterans past and present in front of the historic Civil War monument.
The Colonel John Chester Fife and Drum Corps, the Nathan Hale Fife and Drum Corps, a Vernon military flag group, local and sate dignitaries and re-enactors from the New England Civil War Museum group are slated to march.

The ceremonies will also feature a bugler, a vocalist, bikers, wagons and vintage cars.
Everyone traditionally gets a flag and walks with the parade.
