VERNON, CT — The Registrars of Voters Association of Connecticut announced a new slate of officers for its executive board — including the organization’s new president with Vernon ties.

Chris Prue, the Democratic registrar of voters from Vernon and longtime member of the ROVAC Board of Directors, has been appointed president, following the completion of Immediate Past President Sue Larsen’s four-year term.

Larsen, of South Windsor, who will continue her involvement as a member ROVAC’s Legislative Committee, has led the organization since 2017.

  • Annalisa Stravato (Wilton) – Executive Vice President
  • Karen Birck (Wilton) – Vice President
  • Lauren Olson (Ashford) – Secretary
  • Peter Gostin (New Britain) – Treasurer

"I am so honored to lead a dedicated and highly-trained group of public service professionals that firmly believe in ROVAC’s mission to protect and provide access to Connecticut’s democratic process," Prue said. "On behalf of my fellow registrars, I want to thank Past President Sue Larsen for her leadership and service to our state"s residents—particularly at the end of her term as the state worked through challenges brought on by the pandemic. As always, ROVAC remains committed to providing election expertise to our constituents and policymakers, and we look forward to continuing our work with Governor Lamont, Secretary of the State Merrill and the Connecticut legislature to ensure our state’s elections remain accessible, transparent and secure."
