VERNON, CT — A shoplifting case in Vernon featured a snack at the deli and an altercation with employees, according to an arrest report.

At 7:08 p.m. on April 19, Vernon police were dispatched to the ShopRite supermarket at the Tri-City Plaza for a shoplifting incident.

A suspect, a 38-year-old Vernon woman, was located a short distance away, according to an arrest report.

The woman is accused of shopping at the store while drunk and consuming deli items while in that department.

She was unable to pay for the items in her cart and caused a disturbance with four store employees at the checkout area, according to an arrest report.

The woman was charged with sixth-degree larceny for the consumed deli items and second-degree breach of peace for the altercation, police said.
