VERNON, CT — The signs are up at the anchor slot in a long-vacant strip shopping center on state Route 83 and it will be officially filled next month, a town official said this week.

A formal ceremony to mark the opening of a new ProHealth Physicians office in the Talcottville Plaza is slated for Feb. 3 at noon, Vernon Economic coordinator Shaun Gately said.

A sign at the plaza indicates one service will be pediatrics.

The local address of the strip mall is 206 Talcottville Road. It has sat without a tenant for several years. Workers have been busy inside the center suite of the building for months.

ProHealth already has a presence along the 500 block of Route 83.
