'Approaching Storm' May Impact Thanksgiving Travel Plans In CT
The forecast for Connecticut this Thanksgiving week includes major temperatures changes and precipitation, wind that may impact travel plans

CONNECTICUT — The weather on Sunday in Connecticut wasn't the greatest as a light, cold rain pelted us for most of the day, while some folks in far northern parts of the state saw snow and sleet which made travel messy.
But fortunately for us, Monday begins major, good changes in the weather department. Temps will rise into the 50s today and possibly hit 60 degrees in parts of Connecticut on Tuesday. What an amazing turnaround.
Wednesday will remain warm too, but rain is expected to break out in time for the evening commute, which isn't ideal on the busiest travel day of the year. But it will be warm enough that the precipitation remains all rain.

NBC Connecticut adds that "Anyone traveling today or tomorrow for Thanksgiving will be just fine, but a storm approaching Wednesday and it will bring rain and wind by Wednesday evening."

Thanksgiving Day will usher in more weather changes as the temps begin to drop during the day and it will become very windy. It looks to remain chilly on Friday and there is a chance for some wintry weather next weekend, but we'll know more about that later this week.
The National Weather Service says, "High pressure will build across the southeast today. This will bring a few days of tranquil weather to the region. Temperatures today will rise into the upper 40s to lower 50s. Overnight lows will fall into the 30s across the interior and in the 40s in and around NYC. Tuesday looks to be even warmer than today with strong southerly flow. Highs will reach the lower 60s in some spots under a sunny sky. The next chance for precipitation will be Wednesday as a frontal system approaches from the west."
WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Quiet weather for the day today with high temperatures around 50°. Sun and clouds back-and-forth. Warmer weather tomorrow with passing clouds & temperatures in the middle 50s! Dry for the daylight hours on Wednesday. I am expecting some rain to start showing up around the evening time frame into the night. This will not be ice, just rain. Windy and chilly with dry weather for Thanksgiving! Dry weather for Friday and Saturday followed by rain or a mix later on Sunday.
Good morning! It'll be so much better out there today compared to yesterday. Highs near 50 degrees as the sunshine makes a return. Even warmer tomorrow... Details on the forecast for this holiday week on @Fox61news all morning! pic.twitter.com/jlotjHv3wo
