Car Slams Into Hillside Barrier In Vernon Wednesday
A car narrowly missed careening down a steep hill in Vernon Wednesday.

VERNON, CT — A car slammed into a concrete barrier at the edge of steep hill on High Street in Vernon Wednesday.
The single-car crash took place at 11:43 a.m., police said.
The barrier borders the north side of High Street overlooking the Downtown Rockville area. It sits at the intersection Hammond and High streets in a hilly, maze-like section of roads just below Henry Park.

Below the barrier is a steep drop-off.

The compact silver car sustained heavy damage and no skid marks were visible at the crash scene. Police said the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Rockville General Hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries.
