Cars Collide Head-On In Vernon Monday

VERNON, CT — The occupants of the two cars involved in a harrowing crash on Route 83 Monday night escaped serious injury, police said.

The crash took place at abut 6:20 p.m. along the 200 block of Talcottville Road, the local address for that section of Route 83.

A preliminary police report indicates the cars hit head-on. The front of one was completely demolished and the other spun around 180 degrees over three lanes. A full report was not yet completed as of Tuesday.
