Nicknamed "God's Comic," Stine to appear at Union Church in Rockville

Jacob’s Well Coffeehouse will feature nationally-known comedian Brad Stine from Brentville, Tennessee on Friday, June 4. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the event starting at 7:15 p.m. The event will be held in the gorgeous 700-seat Union Church sanctuary at 3 Elm Street in the historic Rockville section of Vernon. In addition to performing a variety of comedy skits about Bible characters and topics, church life, and everyday living, Stine will be interviewed "live" by coffeehouse director Drew Crandall with Q&A from the audience. Inside the adjacent chapel, Stine will have a merchandise table with items for sale. There will also be ministry displays by Become Part of the Solution, Creation Coalition of Connecticut, Jacob's Well Coffeehouse, Northeast Christians At Work, Thrivent Financial, WIHS 104.9 FM Christian Radio, and World Vision.
Nicknamed "God's Comic," Stine started to practice and perform magic tricks, sideshow stunts and comedy as a teenager in Southern California. In the late 1980s, he was hired by a manager and toured colleges across the United States. He eventually focused on comedy in clubs and on television, gradually making his Christian faith and conservatism the emphasis of his act. For many years, he was a featured performer at Christian men's rallies organized by Promise Keepers.

Stine's style has been described as conservative with a rat-a-tat delivery. He does not use profanity or sexual humor. He often uses ridiculous and satirical scenarios to make finer points. He has appeared on several stand-up comedy shows, such as A&E's Evening at the Improv, Comedy Club Network, and MTV's Half Hour Comedy Hour as well as news and talk shows such as Hannity, Paula Zahn NOW, Glenn Beck and NBC Nightly News.
