NORTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT — Connecticut Water Company has begin the application process for its 2021 School Water Bottle Filling Station Grant Program.

It's the second year of the program, which, for 2020, supplied 15 schools in eight school districts with water bottle filling stations to promote safe, touch-free hydration for students.

"We already know about the benefits of hydration to students throughout the school day," said Denise Poole of Connecticut Water's Charitable Giving Committee. "But now, more than ever, the environmental and health benefits of a touchless station for refillable bottles will help schools as they navigate the best health and safety options for students in 2021."

In the $15,000 program, any school served by Connecticut Water is eligible to apply. Applications are open until Jan 8, 2021, for an anticipated early spring delivery of the units to selected schools.

In addition to supporting the needs of Connecticut Water's service communities, the program also aims to support Connecticut Water's "commitment to the environment" by promoting the use of reusable bottles.
