Cyclist Airlifted To Hospital After Crash With Car In Vernon: PD

VERNON, CT — A car and bicycle collided on a busy road in Vernon on Friday and the cyclist was airlifted to an area hospital with what police were describing as serious injuries.

The crash took place at about 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of West Main and Orchard streets in the Rockville section of Vernon, police said.

The cyclist was being described as "an adult male" by police.

Life Star helicopter was called to the scene, police said. There was also heavy police activity in the area and the road was to be closed for some time.
