"I wish to thank Speaker Ritter and Majority Leader Rojas for appointing me to the Education Committee," Exum said. "The most valuable thing we can give to children of all income levels and backgrounds is a high-quality, well-rounded education. There are so many ways that this can be accomplished, and I am excited to work within this committee to ensure that Connecticut stands by its students and educators."

Holding a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education as well as an MBA, Rep. Exum is also a founding member, former president and executive board member of the West Hartford Special Education PTA.

In addition to this new appointment, Rep. Exum currently serves as a deputy majority leader and sits on both the Commerce Committee and the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee.
