Gulf Station Reopens In Vernon With A Tasty Twist
A Gulf station on Route 83 in Vernon is now featuring the Vernon Grill.

VERNON, CT — A Gulf station on Route 83 in Vernon has reopened with a new look.
Cars were piling into the business at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday amid grand opening signs. The accompanying store has been named the Vernon Grill and will feature freshly made food items in addition to convenience type products.
The establishment is a 41 Windsor Ave., the local address for that section of state Route 83.

The business had gone through the local regulatory process in the fall and announced renovations in January. Then, the coronavirus pandemic hit and stalled the work.
Construction picked back up during Phase 2 of the state's reopening process and the business opened back up this week.

When the renovations were announced in January gas was much more expensive. It was $2.599 per gallon then for a gallon gallon of unleaded regular. On Thursday, the same grade was being advertised at $1.89 per gallon.
