Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Hartford, Tolland Counties
Accumulating snow is now forecast for northern sections of the state.
HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM, CT — The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for accumulating snow for northern parts of the state Friday.
The weather service said snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is expected. The snow is forecast to fall from 4 a.m. until noon Friday.
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute," the weather service said. "Main roads will initially be wet, but as temperatures fall below freezing during Friday morning, roads will become snow covered especially secondary roads and any untreated surfaces. If the higher end snow amounts (3 inches) become more widespread, down tree branches and isolated power outages would be possible."
