Heat, Forecast Prompt Vernon Officials To Move Fireworks Date

VERNON, CT — Officials in Vernon said Tuesday that the annual July in the Sky fireworks show event has been postponed to next Wednesday — July 7. It was initially slated for this Wednesday.

July 7 is the prescheduled rain date.

Town officials said the event is being postponed due to the "impending forecast" of possible rain showers and thunderstorms, combined with "oppressive heat and elevated fire danger."
