Hundreds Of Cars Take To Vernon's Henry Park For 2020 Winterfest
Hundreds of vehicles rolled into Vernon's Henry Park Friday evening for the 2020 version of the Winterfest celebration.

VERNON, CT — Hundreds of vehicles rolled into Vernon's Henry Park Friday evening as the annual Winterfest celebration, traditionally staged at town hall, was transformed into a drive-through event for 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
So many people came out for the event that it had to be extended an hour as vehicles extended into Coventry, officials said. By 6:30 p.m., 500 vehicles had entered the park; by the end of the evening, a total of 1,054 had visited.
Town officials said the lights will be re-lit during evening hours for a brief period of time to accommodate any residents who may have missed the opportunity.
