Letter: Supporting Champagne, Vernon Republicans

To the Editor:

As the old saying goes, “The proof is in the pudding!” and you don’t have to look far to see proof that Dan Champagne and his Republican team have been good for Vernon.

Look at the new establishments on Route 83. Look at thriving new businesses along Route 30. Look at the Citizen’s Block in Rockville. Look at the former Amerbelle property and the park across the street. Look at the new Senior Center. Look at our school buildings and our roads. There is healthy development everywhere you look.

How have they done it? By aggressively marketing our town, carefully managing the budget, paying close attention to bonding, securing grants, and finding ways to economize. In spite of the ill health of the State and their pathetic attempts to off load items from their budget on to local municipalities so they can claim they are not raising our taxes, Dan has accomplished all of this with very small, and in some years, no tax increase.

Mayor Champagne and his Republican Team have done an excellent job. There is proof of that everywhere you look. Return the Republican Team to office on November 7th.
