Letter: A Vote For Winkler

VERNON, CT — To the Editor:

On November 3rd, I’ll be voting to re-elect Mike Winkler.

Mike has always been there for his constituents – when they call, email, or stop him in person, he listens and responds to constituent needs. He's an elected official that I truly believe I can count on.One example of his leadership is his work as a leader to get paid family leave passed for our state. He knows that our community suffers when we cannot take care of our loved ones, and he stood up to advocate for those needs in Hartford.He was also instrumental in getting

Connecticut’s gradual implementation of a $15 minimum wage passed. This law means that more Vernon residents will be able to put food on their family's table, invest in themselves and their future, and feel more financially stable. Mike believes in this town, its people, and knows that when people receive a living wage, they’ll be able to stay here.Mike is an advocate for Vernon residents – he will continue to fight for us individually, he supports bills that protect and empower our community, and he is and advocate for us. I’m proud to support him with my vote, and I hope you’ll join me.
