Man Shot Multiple Times At Vernon Apartment Complex
Vernon police are investigating a shooting at a local apartment complex.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police are investigating a Tuesday shooting at a local apartment complex.
The incident took place at 4:15 p.m., at the Park West complex off Terrace Drive. One man was found at the scene suffering from several gunshot wounds, police said. Police Chief James Kenny said the man had "significant bleeding" in his torso. The victim was first taken to Rockville General Hospital and then was airlifted from the RGH helipad to a Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Kenny said.
Police described the man as a "younger adult."

Police had an area in front of a cluster of apartments taped off and state and local police could be seen interviewing several neighbors. Tolland Country State's Attorney Matthew Gedanski was also at the scene.
Kenny said several people had been detained, but others were still at large.

One area business owner said police were combing the area along Route 83 in search of clues. Police deployed dog patrols in the area.
