Man Shot Multiple Times In Vernon Thursday Night
Police are investigating a Thursday night shooting that took place behind a bank building in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police were at the corner of Merline Road and state Route 30 Friday morning to investigate a shooting that took place the night before.
Vernon Police department spokesman William Meier told Patch the initial call came in at about 11:30 p.m.
Officers located a man who had been shot multiple times near the Shell gas station at 448 Hartford Turnpike, he said.

It appeared the man had been shot at an area behind a credit union building and a hotel and made his way across the street to the filling station, Meier said.
Meier said he could only describe the man as an "adult male."

He was taken to Hartford Hospital and his wounds appeared to be "non-life-threatening," Meier said.
Detectives and uniformed officers were at the scene Friday morning with the Vernon police mobile forensics unit as part of what Meier said is an active investigation. Anyone with any information on the case can call Vernon police at 860-872-9126 and calls can remain confidential, Meier said.
