TOLLAND, CT — A single-motorcycle crash on Route 74 in Tolland Sunday afternoon took the life of local man, state police said.

The crash took place at 3:08 p.m. Route 74 is known locally as Tolland Stage Road.

According to a report, a 2015 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Tolland Stage Road and approached a sharp curve that veered to the right near the intersection with Burbank Road.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Steven Carr, of Tolland, lost control of the bike, which crossed the center line and crashed onto its side in the westbound lane. Carr was thrown from the bike, according to a report.

He was transported to Rockville General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to a report.
