Murphy Rallies Vernon Dems for Janowski
U.S. Senator Chris Murphy visited Vernon Dems' campaign HQ to support municipal candidates and urge volunteers to help defend our democracy

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy visited Vernon Saturday evening, addressing an enthusiastic crowd of candidates, volunteers, local Democrats, and Vernon residents in support of mayoral candidate Claire Janowski and her team of Democratic candidates for Town Council and Board of Education.
Murphy served alongside Janowski in the Connecticut General Assembly, where they were both members of the Public Health committee. He recalled Janowski’s reputation as a tough, principled legislator that colleagues advised him to consult.
Murphy reminisced about spending Thanksgiving holidays as a child at his great aunt’s Rockville home, and praised Janowski as a passionate advocate for the town. He acknowledged the crowd’s fears about the state of our democracy, but pointed out that the first line of defense is local elections, urging volunteers to redouble their efforts to get out the vote on November 5th.
