Elizabeth Fisher, the director of food and nutrition services for the Vernon system, touted three positive aspects of the jobs:

  • Hours that allow parents to work while children are in school while being home in time to pick them up.
  • Jobs with "part of a collaborative team feeding students in the community"
  • A chance to "fight child hunger by providing meals to kids so that they have the nutrition they need to learn"
